NEWS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thad Dickson receives (ISC)²® HCISPP® Healthcare Security Certification

(ISC)² CISSP certification continues to be recognized as gold standard for information security industry

Xpio Health, WA., U.S.A., March 10th, 2014(ISC)²® (“ISC)-squared”), the largest not-for-profit membership body of certified information and software security professionals, today announced that Mr. Thad Dickson has received the HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPPSM) credential.

“I’m excited to join the (ISC)²®  community and appreciate their efforts to offer relevant and rigorous tests and credentials that highlight the specialized skill sets of healthcare security professionals. Healthcare security is a dynamic and moving target, and the stakes are high. CMS and HIPAA are holding organizations to high standards of accountability under the Omnibus Rule and Meaningful Use requirements, and HHS has been levying record penalties for organizations that fail to comply with regulations. In addition, the threat landscape continues to evolve and we are now seeing sophisticated intrusion methods like the use of encryption to cover up activity, as well as hold data hostage.  The HCISPP credential validates the healthcare security specific expertise of Xpio Health, and we look forward to continuing to support organizations in mitigating risk, protecting personal health information integrity, and being responsible stewards of electronic patient health information.”
